Introduction

The International Organization for Succulent Plant Study (IOS) was established in 1950 at the Städtische Sukkulenten-Sammlung, Zürich, Switzerland, with the aim "to promote the study and conservation of succulent and allied plants and to encourage international co-operation amongst those interested in them".  Over the past few years the IOS has been actively pursuing this aim with a view to uniting scientists and interested amateurs working with succulent plants by improving communication and facilitating co-operation amongst individuals interested in research and conservation aspects of succulent plants, broadly defined.

An Invitation from the IOS

The Executive Board of the lOS wishes to invite active succulent plant researchers and those interested in supporting the study of such plants to apply for membership in this international organization.

All applicants are asked to read the attached abbreviated copy of this Code of Conduct; signing the application form means that he/she is willing to adhere to this Code.

The Executive Board invites you to seriously consider membership in IOS, either as a Section Member, or as an Associate Member. Inquiries and/or applications may be sent to Dr Jean-Marc Chalet, Av. Tronchet 22B, Ch 1226- Thônex, Switzerland. Tel.: 41 22 3486162; Fax: 41 22 3486162;
